Healthy North End Neighborhood Plan

During the 2017-2018 school year, the Development Services Department worked with students from the University of Iowa on numerous projects through the Iowa Initiative for Sustainable Communities. The project conducted by graduate students in the School of Urban and Regional Planning was an in-depth study of the North End Neighborhood. The students worked with staff and the Cerro Gordo County Department of Public Health to create the “Healthy North End Neighborhood Plan.” This plan combines planning initiatives with public health to provide for a more sustainable future in the North End.

The Planning and Zoning Commission has reviewed the plan and recommends that the City Council adopt it. The City Council is in the process of reviewing it. You can view an electronic version of the Healthy North End Neighborhood Plan or a hard copy at the office of the City Clerk.
